Enrolling your child at school
In Western Australia, children can start their education in Kindergarten, however compulsory schooling starts the following year in Pre-primary.
Student Enrolments – Kindy to Year 6*
To enrol your child at Banksia Park Primary School, please follow the steps below.
Kindy enrolments*
Parents should contact the school as soon as your child turns three in order to secure a place in the Kindy program for the following year as enrolments generally close early in term 3 (July) to allow for staffing and class organisation for the following year.
Step 1
Download an initial application form to enrol at Banksia Park Primary School by clicking on the appropriate link below.
Step 2
Organise the supporting documents to submit with the enrolment application.
- Birth Certificate or Australian Passport
- AIR (Australian Immunisation Register) statement (Available online from Medicare)
- Proof of current address (Council Rates Notice, Rental Agreement and a Utility Bill in your name)
- Family Court Orders – custody arrangements (if applicable)
- Visa documentation (if applicable)
- Copy of your child’s most recent school report (if moving from another school).
Step 3
Return the completed enrolment application form to the school office. These may be supplied in person or scanned and emailed to our friendly office staff.
Step 4
Book an appointment to meet with the school Principal for an enrolment interview (PP-6). The Principal will review your application documentation and provide any additional information required. This will also be an opportunity to meet you and your child and discuss your child’s individual needs.
Step 5
Once your application has been approved by the Principal, a Banksia Park Enrolment Package will be provided for each student. This should be completed in full and returned to the school so that the new enrolment can be processed.
